Natural Light, the official beer of college dorms across the United States, knows finding a career in today’s job market can be difficult – but don’t worry, they’re here to help.
Building the perfect résumé is tedious, though not nearly as painstaking as pumping it out to various employers. And then there’s the waiting to see if it got lost in the ether, if anyone read it at all, or the task of making it stand out from the dozens of other potential applicants looking to land that very same position. It can really feel like its own full-time job. Well, if you want to get it seen, how about slapping it on a car for a NASCAR race?
On Monday, Natty Light announced it will be changing the look on the stock car it sponsors, transforming it into a résumé for a NASCAR race this fall at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. According to the company, Natty Light and Censuswide recently surveyed 1,000 employers and found that four-out-of-five agreed applicants need to find ways of standing out when applying for jobs. And that might just be how they came up with this idea. One lucky winner will have their job history motoring around the track at almost 200 mph, though easily visible at pit stops. The No. 37 Natural Light car is driven by Chris Buescher who, in 21 starts so far this season, has two Top 5 finishes this season and currently sits in the 24th spot of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series standings. If he wins, the résumé might just have to stay.
Ever seen a resume go 200 mph? Neither have we, but we’re tired of them going unnoticed by HR suits. Your creds + the #37 @NASCAR paint scheme on national TV = get your dream job (hopefully). Here are the details on how to enter, per the beer company:
To be considered for the paint scheme, any person over the age of 21 can:
– Send their resume to NattyRaceResume@naturallight.com
– Entries are open between July 30–August 6.
The chosen resume will be announced, and the paint scheme will be revealed on September 10, 2018 ahead of the South Point 400 on September 14-16. Selected by Natural Light, the resume will be plastered all over Buescher’s No.37 car and include the person’s head shot, qualifications, skills, contact information – and anything else they think sets them apart!
The contest comes on the heels of Natty Light giving away $40,000 each to 25 winners, a total of $1,000,000, to help with college debt, so the students could “remember college for the good times.” So, work on those résumés and send them in – though we might recommend setting up a new email as well as getting a burner phone. Who knows how many people might be bugging you after the Sept. 16 race.
