New Holland Brewing Plans First Online Release For Dragon’s Milk Reserve Beers

There’s one beer that’s synonymous with New Holland Brewing Company: Dragon’s Milk.  Over the years, the Michigan-based brewery has created variations on the beer that made it famous, including the highly sought after Dragon’s Milk Reserve Triple Mash.  Well, it turns out that COVID-19 doesn’t affect dragons because New Holland plans to release a limited supply of the reserve beer this weekend, doing it through the company’s first-ever virtual online beer release.

Because of the current climate, New Holland has elected to release this coveted beer, along with two other variants – Dragon’s Milk Reserve Stroopwafel and Dragon’s Milk Reserve Scotch Barrel-Aged Stout with Marshmallow and Dark Chocolate – for what it’s calling the “Day of the Dragon.” The Reserve Triple Mash, a beer with an average rating of 4.26 on BeerAdvocate based on 281 reviews, is a monstrous 17 percent ABV barrel-aged stout that’s much bolder than the original.  It goes through three separate mashes, a delicate lautering and a year’s slumber in New Holland Spirits oak bourbon barrels resulting in highlights layers of coffee, chocolate and vanilla.

And just because life is topsy-turvy, doesn’t mean there’s can’t be next-level beer.

“Dragon’s Milk has always been about celebration and creating savored moments,” Dragon’s Milk Brand Manager Dominic Bergquist said in a statement.  “The online release allows us to still get these awesome brews to our fans for them to enjoy at home and celebrate the arrival of summer, backyard bonfires and hopefully a s’more or two.  While we aren’t able to raise a glass together, this batch of Reserves is certainly worthy of a virtual ‘cheers.’”

New Holland will begin taking orders online for these reserve beers on May 16 beginning at 11 a.m. through 11 p.m., while supplies last.  The brewery’s Club Members will receive an access code for early entrance.  Drinkers can select their preferred location for pickup at New Holland’s Grand Rapids or Holland pub locations beginning June 1.  Reserve Triple Mash is $24.99 a four-pack, with a two case limit, and the other two are $17.99 with no limit. Payment will be done at time of order and drinkers will get an email confirmation that needs to be presented at pickup. And there’s even a $15 teku glass available as well, to snap the perfect shot to make your friends jealous on social media.

Unfortunately, these three efforts will only be available for purchase on order day and won’t see distribution outside of New Holland’s pubs.
