It seems like forever since HBO aired a new episode of Game of Thrones but the hit medieval TV drama is almost back for it’s eighth, and final, season. Fans are dying to know how the story will end, while the show is merchandising like crazy to help add to the global hysteria. One company that’s getting in on the action is Oreo, which just released limited edition GoT cookies.
These chocolate and creme sandwiched treats are perfect for any massive fan, no matter if they support the Lannisters, Starks or Wildlings. The Oreos are emblazoned with one of four different decals from the show and the cookies themselves are carved with the House Lannister, House Targaryen, and House Stark family sigils or with a profile of the Night King – each of which can be seen here:
Oreo is encouraging GoT fans to log on and visit the company’s website or post on social media using the hashtag #GameOfCookies or #ForTheThrone to pledge their loyalty to the White Walkers or any of the houses. One lucky participant will be awarded something special, though there have been no hints just yet. The company also celebrated the new cookies on its YouTube channel, creating a 51 second video recreating Game of Thrones’ title sequence with an animated landscape built entirely out of Oreo cookies – 2,750 cookies, to be exact. Let’s see Ernie and the Keebler elves pull that off.
Season 8 of Game of Thrones premieres April 14 on HBO and will feature six episodes, four of which will be feature film length. So, grab your Ommegang GoT beers and your Oreos and prepare to find out with the rest of the world who will be victorious.
