It’s been more than 26 years since Snoop Dogg released his debut album Doggystyle, which almost immediately catapulted the California rapper into a pop culture phenomenon, and now the 48-year-old is launching a line of bespoke gin in honor of the album’s hit single “Gin & Juice.”

With lyrics focusing on living a laid back California lifestyle of pot-smoking, house-partying and drink-sipping, Gin & Juice immediately became a generation’s anthem and inspired Snoop to create Indoggo, in association with Trusted Spirits co-founder Keenan Towns.  Set to begin shipping in early October, the “juicy, laid-back California style” distilled alcoholic drink comes in a royal purple bottle – which will retail for $30 – with gold foil stamps and it features seven premium botanicals infused with all-natural ingredients.  He released photo of the new product on his Instagram Wednesday.

It shouldn’t surprise anyone that the man who set a world record when he made a 500-liter gin and juice cocktail – a monstrous 132-gallon drink that blended 38 jugs of orange juice, 140 bottles of gin and 154 bottles of apricot brandy – back in 2018 has started his own gin brand.  We’re just surprised it took this long.  Snoop’s goal for Indoggo was to recreate the feelings that the drink gave him almost three decades ago, when he created Gin & Juice, which reached No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

“I can’t wait for the world to taste my remix on gin!” Snoop said in a statement. “When creating Indoggo, I wanted to give those feelings new life with an approachable juicy gin that’s smooth like the D.O. Double G.”

This isn’t the rappers first foray into the world of booze.  Earlier this summer, Snoop collaborated with 19 Crimes Wine to launch Snoop Cali Red, a blend of Lodi-based Petite Syrah, Zinfandel and Merlot.  Indoggo, which took nearly two years to develop, will be available in two sizes, 50ml and 750ml, throughout most of the country come 2021.
